Nestled in North Fort Worth, Caliper Cosmetics is more than just a beauty studio — it’s a destination for self-expression, artistry, and connection. At the helm is founder Elizabeth Meyer, a skilled permanent makeup artist, tattoo artist, and cosmetic injector with a story as vibrant as the work she does.
Elizabeth began her journey in Virginia, training extensively in permanent makeup through a rigorous program akin to an esthetics license. Specializing initially in permanent eyebrows, eyeliner and lip blush, she quickly found her passion in helping people feel confident and beautiful.
As her expertise expanded, so did her ambitions, eventually leading her to Texas where she attained her tattoo license and opened the doors to Caliper Cosmetics in June of 2020 — right in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the business proudly celebrates its fifth anniversary.
With a background as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Elizabeth has extensive knowledge and experience with local anesthetic injections, head and neck anatomy, skin anatomy, sterilization techniques, and blood borne pathogens, enabling her to excel in the permanent makeup and aesthetic injection professions.
Now a thriving beauty and wellness destination, Caliper Cosmetics offers an impressive suite of services, from permanent makeup to fine line tattoos, Botox and filler treatments, and even permanent jewelry. The studio has become popular among clients of all ages ranging from 18-80+.
The fine line tattoos often carry deep personal meaning — symbols of strength, love, or memory — and clients frequently prefer the calm, intimate setting of Caliper over a traditional tattoo shop.
At Caliper Cosmetics, beauty is never about drastic change. The team is known for enhancing natural features, offering subtle yet stunning results that leave clients looking refreshed rather than “done.” As Elizabeth puts it, “Our goal is to help people feel like the best version of themselves. If someone looks at you and just sees you — radiant and confident — that’s a win.”
What sets Caliper apart is its welcoming, family-friendly environment. The industrial chic interior was designed and built out by Elizabeth, utilizing her attention to detail and eye for design. The elegant and spacious 2,000-square-foot studio offers a large open comfortable seating area where family members or friends can hang out and accompany the clients.
“We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel at home,” says Elizabeth. “This isn’t just about beauty — it’s about community.”
The Caliper team includes three dynamic women. Emily is a talented permanent makeup and tattoo artist specializing in fine line tattoos. Ke’ara, originally hired as a client coordinator, is now being trained in Botox, permanent makeup, and tattoos — proof of the studio’s commitment to professional growth. Ashlea currently serves as the client coordinator, ensuring every guest feels cared for from the moment they step inside.
In addition to its aesthetic services, Caliper Cosmetics offers a curated shopping boutique featuring candles, jewelry, handbags, clothing, and more. The space also serves as a unique venue for events — from bridal showers and mother-daughter days to Botox or tiny tattoo parties and networking events. When services are booked as part of the celebration, there’s no rental fee.
Caliper’s permanent jewelry counter has become a favorite for those looking to commemorate special moments. Whether it’s matching bracelets for a bridal party, anklets for best friends, or delicate rings to celebrate a milestone, clients love the idea of wearing a piece that won’t fade — just like the memories it represents.
Elizabeth has also made waves in the local business community. After joining the Keller Chamber of Commerce last year, she quickly rose to the role of ambassador and was nominated for New Business of the Year.
She also launched her own monthly small business networking group, Faces of Fort Worth, hosted on the first Friday of every month at Caliper. These events, which feature live music, food and drinks, raffles, and plenty of mingling, have become a highlight for local entrepreneurs and creatives alike.
Last year, Caliper Cosmetics was a presenting sponsor for WISE in Keller — an empowering, half-day women’s event featuring speakers, vendors, and almost 300 attendees. Elizabeth is thrilled to continue her support this year, stating, “Being able to uplift and empower women is at the heart of everything we do here.”
